TOPIC: Film Review: Elevenfourteen (11:14) The movie “Elevenfourteen” is an American thriller, which was released on the 16th of May in 2003, directed by Greg Marks and starring Rachael Leigh Cook, Henry Thomas, Shawn Hatosy, Stark Sands, Colin Hanks, Ben Foster, Barbara Hershey, Clark Gregg, Patrick Swayze and Hilary Swank. The film is about a night at 11:14 pm and the events, that lead up to a car crash, shown in five different perspectives. Jack, a young man, who drives drunk along the road at night, talks to a person on his mobile phone. Suddenly, when he drives under an overpass, something crashes into his car. The first thing, that comes to his mind is a collision with a deer, which he passed over, but when he get out of the car to check what he has hit, he sees that it’s a human body without a face. As he realizes another car, he panics and tries to get the body into his luggage space. In the next part the three teenagers, Mark, Tim and Eddie, are driving around in Mark’s van while throwing things out of the window, things like burning books and old donuts. When Mark is distracted by the other boys, he bumps into a girl and kills her. In the third part Frank takes a walk with his dog at night, when he finds his daughter’s car keys near to a dead body, whose is Aaron, in the cemetery. Thinking his daughter is responsible for his death, Frank puts the corpse in Aaron’s car and drives to a bridge to get the dead away. Afterwards in the fourth scene a man asks his colleague for money in the supermarket. She wants him to shoot at her, so it’ll look like an attack. In the last part a girl named Cheri meets Aaron to have sex at the cemetery with him. He reclines against a tombstone that has an angel statue on the top. Because of that the already damaged head of the angel finally breaks und drops down right into Aaron’s head, who dies instantly. Cheri is shocked and runs back to the street. In my opinion it is a great movie, although at the beginning it´s hard to understand everything, but step by step you can realize more about the real facts and you find out how the people and scenes are connect with each other. Finally you realize that it’s a flashback and the whole accidents happened because of one lie.
The review of the film 11:14(elevenfourteen) describes the content of the five strings of action good. It's written chronological to the film, what makes it easy to understand the basic action. If you watch the film you discover many details, which aren't important so important but helpful to understand the action completely. The structure is good, like only using one paragraph for one idea, leaving place after the coma or combining the different sentences. One aspect of action worth mentioning is missing, the fact that Cheri tries to get 500$ from Aaron and Duffy but secretly tries to run away with Jack. As summary you can say a appropriate review of a complicate film. BP
I think BP is right to the point that the review describes the plot of the film 11:14 good. The most important events are mentioned although the scenes are like a puzzle. When you begin watching you don't understand why the accidents happened and it's very strange , for example when the young man thought he caused an accident and the dead person crashes against his car. In my opinion this is what I like best in the whole film, you have to think why this happened , and what will happen next. It's not foreseeable as the most films are , where you exactly know how it is going on. I would watch the film every time again , because it is interesting and well made. I would give 8 out of 10 points.
